Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) said, “we produced and distributed ‘the LH guide book for the right construction language’ to more than 400 places for the persons concerned with construction to use the right Korean language.” This booklet was made to change the foreign words spoken conventionally at the construction sites to the right Korean words. LH changed the foreign words spoken well to the easy and right terms and wrote them to match the word sentence model. And LH changed them into the sentences like Korean. LH has concluded duties agreement with the House of national language from 2019 and carried out the campaign. The booklet is going to be distributed to the 400 construction sites of the whole country and utilized in the LH head office and the local headquarters. On the other hand, LH writes “the casebook of legal advice for construction site” to protect the workers’ rights and to make fair subcontract business order. Chang Cheor-guk, LH construction technology general manager said, “we supported the use of the right Korean terms to make the graceful construction culture and produced the legal advice casebook. We make an effort positively”. |

On December 11, Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party wrote at his Facebook, “false doctors gave medical cares and operated, and false pharmacists participated in the dosage of the medicine. They are something that shouldn't be.” The candidate Lee said, “It is over 2.5 trillion won (about 20 billion dollars) that the illegal medical institutions unfairly had requested to the health insurance public corporation and received from 2015 to this June. The money by which many people are helped is spent for the false doctors and pharmacists whose pockets are filled with money.” |

Lee Jae-myun, the presidential election candidate of the Korean ruling party “Democratic Party of Korea” raised a pledge to change the name of “산부인과 (obstetrics and gynecology)” into “여성건강의학과 (the woman health medicine department)” in his Facebook. There he insisted that the name of “산부인과 (obstetrics and gynecology)” was one of “the dregs of Japanese imperialism”. |
Korea・NewDaily (November 24, 2021)Kim Haeng-beom, the professor at Pusan National University said, “Japanese translated the terms of the Western medical science. If we remove such words, it will bring a big confusion.” “The claim of Lee Jae-myun is essentially one of the election tactics to fan the Anti-Japan trend”, he added. In addition, Professor Kim criticized Lee and said, “the word ‘대통령 (president)’ came from Japan. Lee Jae-myun should run for it after he changes the name of the word. “민주 (democratic)” is also the Japanese word. So he will have to change the name of his party.” If the logic of the candidate Lee who took up “the liquidation of the dregs of Japanese imperialism” were right, you must change medical terms themselves entirely to say nothing of our daily life terms. “건강 (health)”, “의학 (medical science)”…. They all are the words that Japan translated. You must change them endlessly. |
In a high-quality department store for the celebrity in Seoul City, Korea, a certain grape causes controversy recently. It is the super high-quality grape that puts on sale as the product in Korea. Its name is “대황옥” (Dae-hwang-ok). The price is about 55 dollars for 1 bunch. In fact, “theft scandal” is raised concerning the grape. “Scandal” is that Korean stole the Japanese grape again. (Pirated Version of Agricultural products) It is the kind called “Horoyoi”, and it is big and slightly reddish with yellowish green skin. People say that the Korean “Dae-hwang-ok” closely resembles “Horoyoi” that had been developed in Japan more than ten years. The press pool left from Seoul for the about 200km away town to look for the farmer who cultivated “Dae-hwang-ok” to check the truth. When we asked the farmer directly, he admitted plainly that he cultivated “Horoyoi” without permission. “Iizuka orchard” that cultivates “Horoyoi” in Nagano prefecture says, “The Korean act tramples our feeling for the grape that we brought up with great deal of effort”. Yoshiyuki Iizuka, the owner of Iizuka orchard says, “We repeated terrible troubles and made the product at last. But the Korean thinks to get it easily and gain money immediately. Such an idea itself is out of common sense. I doubt Korean’s human nature. I am very exasperating.” |

Anesville Country Club that is in North Jeolla Province, Korean southwestern part made clear on a homepage that it will prohibit visiting by Japanese car. Some Koreans direct questions at sudden measures, because many people use the golf goods made in Japan habitually. |

The Korea’s biggest car community “Bobaedream” is a spearhead of anti-Japanism. It’s not an exaggeration that you say the campaigns of the anti-Japanism and anti-American in Korea begin in this site. When the members of “Bobaedream” find a Japanese car in a town, they chase it for hours and wait for violations such as stop line violation or the parking or stopping violation. And when they found some kind of violations, they take photos or movies and report them to the police. (Korea has the report system to the police using smartphone application.) As a result, it leads to consciousness that it is minus that people have a Japanese car, and it changes to the thinking that anti-Japanism and boycotting of Japanese products are justice. Such acts are the clear private property infringements, but many Koreans have a terrible opinion that “it’s OK against the Japanese products”. That makes a person in a Japanese car a traitor. Korea and China became the export countries of “Shine muscat”. About this, most of the opinions in the Internet in Korea is “Koreans can use Japanese things without permission”. Most Koreans think that such a theft of intellectual property rights does not have any problem, because Japan plundered Korea through colonial rule for 36 years. When anti-Japan boycotting began in Korea, volume of sales of the beer from Japan decreased more than 90%. But anti-Japan boycotting includes exceptions, and “Nintendo switch”, “SONY Play Station (PS) 5” and digital cameras made in Japan are popular in fact. Particularly, as for “Nintendo switch” and “PS5”, they do not mind waiting for the purchases and resales of the hardware for a few days. The new products of SONY, NIKON and Canon are expensive, but they are popular among the people who are sensitive to the fashion. Some Koreans in support of the Democratic Party and the Moon Jae-in Administration also like the Japanese products. They quibble for the criticism and say, “the digital camera that does not have a substitute is an exception”. |
In a high-quality department store in Seoul City, Korea, the novel fruits are sold recently. It is “Rubyroman”. It is beautiful grape like a jewel. This grape had been sold for 1 bunch 1.4 million yen. It is cultivated only in Ishikawa, Japan. But it was sold as Korean products in Seoul. Furthermore, “Jewel muscat”. This is cultivated only in Yamanashi. But this is sold as a Korean product, too. Such Japanese high quality grapes are cultivated without permission in the town approximately 150km away from Seoul. The Korean farmer said, “I did not get them with a right procedure. I think that I stole them from the Japanese viewpoint, but I want you to overlook it.” . The Japanese law prohibits bringing out the seeds and the seedlings such as “Rubyroman” or “Jewelmuscat” abroad. |

According to media reports, the “inappropriate broadcast” was broadcast on the morning of the 8th at the Tokyo Olympics Men’s Marathon. Viewers have been criticizing the remarks made by the Korean commentator over the fact that South Korea’s national team Oh Joo-han (32) abstained from the race. Oh made a good start, but after 13km, he showed pain in his left thigh and retreated. After that, his left thigh did not recover and he abstained without passing 15 km. Oh is from Kenya, the kingdom of marathon, and was naturalized in South Korea in 2018. Oh has won multiple international marathon competitions held in South Korea in the past, and this competition was expected to win medals. According to several reports, the MBC commentator who was broadcasting the race after Oh’s abstention made a nuanced statement that the race was ruined. According to the JoongAng Ilbo of the Korean media, viewers said that they “really doubted their ears.” |

“This is not the medal color that we want, but …” On July 26, when An Changrim got the bronze medal of judo 73kg, the Anchor broadcaster said in this way. On 25th, he said, “the gold medal of women archery representative team is a matter of course” . On 25th, the MBC that broadcast the competition of the archery women representative team continued shouting with “beautiful Korean women” towards the Korean players. As soon as the players got the gold medal, SBS said, “Queen of the ice is laughing, and the figure that the women soldiers are laughing is very good”. Raphael Rashid, British freelance journalist based in Korea said about this kind of the broadcast, “I see such expressions I could not believe well not only in the broadcasting stations but also newspapers”. “The Korean media persists in an old way of thinking though now is the time of the change. If this Korean broadcasting style had not been known to the world, the Korean media would have continued following the wrong custom without still recognizing a problem”. |
MBC broadcast the men’s soccer group B ‘Korea vs. Romania’ match at the Tokyo Olympics held at Kashima Stadium in Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan from 8 pm on the 25th. South Korea, which had previously lost to New Zealand, desperately needed a victory. In the 27th minute of the first half, Lee Dong-jun’s cross headed for Hwang Ui-jo, and the ball hit by Romanian captain Rajvan Marine, who tried to block it, went straight into the goal. It was an own goal. It was the first goal scored by the Korean national football team participating in the Tokyo Olympics. The first half ended with Romania’s own goal, and before the second half started, MBC placed an advertisement in the upper right corner of the screen with the caption “Thank you Marine” own goal. It must have been a grateful goal for the Korean national team, but saying “thank you” to a player who scored an own goal was close to ridicule. While broadcasting the Olympics, MBC did not show any respect for sports spirit at all. Currently, the voice of criticism towards MBC is growing on Twitter. |
JoongAng Ilbo introduced the criticism to “Anti-Japan broadcast” insinuating Japan same as before. It wrote, “It is extremely childish”.

The Oly Whites made history against South Korea in their Tokyo Olympics opener last night - and some of the Kiwis' opponents weren't too pleased after the game. Chris Wood's goal gave New Zealand a 1-0 victory over the Asian football giants at the start of the men's Olympics tournament. The Burnley striker scored in the 70th minute with his team's first shot on target at the Ibaraki Kashima Stadium where a few hundred fans were permitted because it is just outside Tokyo and not in the same state of emergency as the capital. It was a tough loss for the South Koreans, with midfielder Lee Dong-gyeong particularly dejected after the game and even refused to shake Wood's hand. |
A major broadcasting partner of the Tokyo Olympics has been forced to apologise after using “totally inappropriate images” when introduced a number of nations taking part in the Opening Ceremony. Korean network TV station MBC, was slammed throughout the show for the images it showed on screen during the entrance of certain countries as they came up on screen. It began friendly as Italy entered with an image of a pizza on screen, and Norway with an image of a salmon. However, it turned more sinister as when Ukraine entered the stadium, the broadcaster put up an image of Chernobyl. And it got worse as, according to translations of the words that were displayed alongside images, when Haitian athletes arrived, the on-screen explanation read: “the political situation is fogged by the assassination of the president”. For the Marshall Islands, it read: “was once a nuclear test site for the US and is composed of more than 1,200 islands”. Syria’s description was: “rich underground resources; a civil war that has been going on for 10 years”, while El Salvador was simply introduced with a picture of a Bitcoin. It prompted widespread outrage and an apology from broadcaster MBC. “In today’s Opening Ceremony broadcast, inappropriate photos were used when introducing countries like Ukraine and Haiti. Also, inappropriate photos and subtitles were used for other countries. We apologise to the viewers of Ukraine and other countries.” |

According to reports, in addition to hanging the South Korean flag and the South Korean team logo on the balcony, the South Korean delegation also typed a line in white letters on a red background: “The minister still has the support and support of 50 million citizens!” This sentence was adapted from a famous Korean anti-Japanese general. Yi Sun-sin's famous saying, “The minister still has 12 warships!” At that time, Yi Sun-sin was facing a huge gap with the Japanese army, and there were 12 warships in the letter to show his determination to be able to fight. The adapted “50 million citizens” refers to South Korea's population of 50 million. For the Korean people, Yi Sun-sin was a hero of the Anti-Japanese War, and a bronze statue of Yi Sun-sin was erected in Korea to commemorate him. In the sports world, Korean fans also played Yi Sun-sin's TIFO in the Korean national football team's match with the Japanese team. The Korean Olympic Committee's response to the banner issue is that it has prepared special messages for the game held in Japan. It wants to use a sentence to motivate the athletes of the Korean national team. |

Korea removed the “Anti-Japan banners”, but set the drop curtain of the Korean Peninsula of the form of the tiger this time instead.
On the map there is “Takeshima (Tokdo)” Japan insists on as the Japanese territory. This is a political claim that “Takeshima” is Korea territory.
“범 내려 오다” on the drop curtain means “Tiger goes down”. “범 (boem)” is an old Korean word that means a tiger. The normal word for “tiger” is “호랑이 (horagi)”. Why do they use the old Korean word that is hardly used in Korea? That is because “범 내려 오다” includes a meaning of “a bomb goes down”. That is, Koreans want to say “(atomic) bombs go down on Japan”. On the other hand, the Korean Olympic Committee began the offer of the lunch for the Korean players of the own country for the purpose of avoiding ingredients from Fukushima. The committee borrows a hotel near the Olympic village and operates that as the original lunch center since July 18th. It instructs the Korean players not to eat the meal of the Olympic village, because Vegetables and marine products from Fukushima are used. About ingredients from Fukushima, the Japanese side explains that security is confirmed by the inspection of the radioactive material. ( TV Asahi news) Of course the Korean side understands the safety of ingredients. However, this is a performance to denigrate the image of Japan. It is the hardest task in the world to remove “Anti-Japan” from Korea. |
The poster on the social network service (SNS) of the Korean government Head of State – Placement of seats in the order of inauguration In the group photo of the G7 (7 major countries) summit on the 12th, it was confirmed that President Moon Jae-in stood in the front row according to the seat arrangement that separated the ‘presidential system’ and ‘the cabinet system’. This means that it has nothing to do with the ‘national status’ that the government put forward in the publicity poster. According to the news on the 16th, some media inquired about the positions of the leaders by e-mail to the British G7 organizers and received a reply that the difference was in accordance with their own protocol, which put the president in the front row and the prime minister in the back row. An official from the G7 preparation team answered, “Traditionally, Britain has been treating the head of state with respect. It is correct that the president is positioned in the front row rather than the prime minister.” In ordinary diplomats, the prime minister of a cabinet system is not classified as the head of state. There are only four ‘presidents’ at the G7 summit, including guest countries. President Moon Jae-in, Joe Biden (USA), Emmanuel Macron (France), and Cyril Ramaphosa (South Africa). These four people stood in the front row with the host country leader (British Prime Minister Boris Johnson) at the center. Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, the third-largest economy in the world, and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, fourth-largest, are in the second row. In addition, President Moon’s position behind President Biden is in accordance with the custom of placing a ‘long-term summit’ closer to the center at multilateral meetings. Looking at the order of inauguration, President Moon and Macron took office in 2017, ahead of Presidents Ramaphosa (inaugurated in 2018) and Biden (inaugurated in 2021). On the 13th, the government introduced a group photo of the G7 Summit as a poster on the social network service (SNS) under the title ‘The status of Korea in one picture’. From this photo alone, President Moon appears to be standing side by side with the host, Prime Minister Johnson. Park Soo-hyun, senior presidential secretary for public communication, said in an interview with MBC the next day (14th), “Because Korea is in an important position, it is precisely evaluated and treated with respect.” the original photo However, in the original, it was confirmed that South African President Ramaphosa in the front row had been cut off from the promotional poster. After the controversy, the government explained that it was a “mistake made in the process of creating the image.” |

Sung Kang’s putt went 9 feet. His putter went about 15. Kang, on the 453-yard, par-4 18th at Harbour Town Golf Links, had hit his drive down the right side of the fairway, hit his approach just left and short of the green and chipped on from there. After making three straight birdie putts, he’d miss the 6-footer for par. Kang wouldn’t miss with his foot. As the putt slid past the right side of the hole during Friday’s second round of the RBC Heritage, he kicked his putter into the rough behind him and maybe a couple feet short of the hazard. “Oh,” announcer Terry Gannon said on the Golf Channel broadcast. “Oh, that’s a drop kick,” analyst Nick Faldo said. “That could hurt,” Gannon said. “Oh, he hit it right in the shaft,” Faldo said. “That’s a nice bit of spring.” Oh, oh, oh. Before his par putt had even finished rolling, Kang flipped his putter with both hands, it went end over end, then he booted it with his left foot. It dropped into the rough, he’d picked it up, and he’d make the bogey putt to finish his three-under 68. |
In order to win the Masters, you have to keep your head for all 72 holes, never letting your emotions get the best of you. At least that's the theory, a theory Si Woo Kim put to the test on Friday at Augusta National. Through 13 holes of his second round, Kim was putting together one of the rounds of the week, having gone four under without a bogey. But he finally slipped up at the 14th green, lipping out a five-footer for par and making his first bogey of the day. It wasn't until the next green, though, that Kim let out a little rage. After flying his second shot over the green, his eagle chip rolled past the hole and off the other side of the green, fortunately stopping short of the water. Kim, clearly running hot, then slammed his putter into the ground, bending it to the point that he could no longer use it: Kim was forced to use his 3-wood, and he was able to two-putt on 15 to save his par. He did it again at the 16th, just missing a 12-footer for birdie and settling for another par. At the 17th, he faced a much bigger challenge - a 30-footer for birdie. Once again, he two-putted with the 3-wood. At 18? Yep, another two-putt par for a three-under 69, putting him at four under for the tournament. Pretty impressive. |

This is the ancient tomb named Janggobong. It is estimated that it was built in the early sixth century. The outside and the inside of the grave became clear by the excavational investigation of Korean culture institute. The investigation was carried out from last October to this February after an interval of 1, 500 year. Surprisingly the burial mound and structure of the grave and the religious service trace were about the same to those of Japanese noble that were built in Kyushu of Japan from the fifth to the sixth century. As a result of the investigation, it became clear that the grave had the characteristic of ancient Kyushu's graves. It had a wall with slim boards in the lower end portion and the broken stones precisely piled up on them. On the ceiling and the wall, red light vermilion lacquer trace remained. It is the typical character of the Japanese graves in Yayoi period. Pak Cheongsu, archeology anthropology professor at the Kyungpook National Univ. said, “I felt same when I entered the grave of a Japanese in Kyushu.” However, the burial mound of the grave was buried again in the end of February. |

Korea started the COVID-19 vaccinations on 26th last month and gives the speed smoothly. On the other hand, Japan started vaccinations nine days earlier than Korea, but only 30,000 people received the inoculations. That shows the clear comparison. On 4th, as of 0:00 a.m. , the vaccinations increased by 65,446 and the total became 154,421 people. The number of the accumulation inoculations of the AstraZeneca vaccine is 15,679 people and that of the Pfizer vaccine is 2,742 people. On the other hand, according to Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Japan started Pfizer vaccinations on 17th, but the number is 37,303 people in total. In Korea 63,644 people a day inoculated on March 2 and Korea overtook Japan in 5 days after Korea started the inoculation. 60,000 or more finished the vaccination consecutively for 2 days and opened a difference with Japan to 4 times. In Japan, the death example of the woman in 60s without the underlying disease occurred on the thirteenth day after the inoculation started on March 2, and the jitters for the vaccine increase, too. The Korean government pushes forward vaccination without a trouble, and is going to put the primary inoculation away targeting at 70% of nations by September and get herd immunity by November. |

On 11th, the scene in question appeared in “Korean pops again” which KBS broadcasted as a special feature on New Year's Day (Sor) in the lunar New Year. This program had a purpose to show the spirit of Korea to the world and showed so-called “Korean pops” that mixed the Korean music and the wide genre together. And it gathered topics. However, in the middle of the performance of the band “LEENALCHI”, the image that was supposedly a castle of Japan came up for the stage scenery. The net users criticise that and say, “Everyone who saw the castle thought it was not a castle of our country, and I can't understand the thinking to use a Japanese castle for the stage scenery.” “It is a Japan castle and it has the Himejijo-style.” “It lacks common sense that the show used the Japan style building for the stage scenery, while introducing that it was a Korean pops”. The person concerned with KBS announced, “there seemed to be a mistake. We are checking the process in the inside meeting now about why the image was used”. In portal sites and YouTube, the movie is deleted. |

Two twin South Korean women volleyball stars have been suspended from the national team over allegations of school bullying, reports said Monday, in the latest sporting abuse scandal to hit the country. Volleyball is one of South Korea's most popular spectator sports after the big three of baseball, golf and football. Lee Jae-yeong and Lee Da-yeong, 24, both play for the Heungkuk Life Insurance Pink Spiders, the biggest women's team in the country, and were instrumental in securing South Korea's place at the Tokyo Olympics. They were accused of bullying last week by an online poster claiming to be a former middle school teammate, who listed 21 allegations including physical violence, stealing money, and threatening with a knife. At least four other victims endured similar abuse, the poster said. The Lees admitted their "irresponsible behaviour in the past" in an Instagram post and apologised. Their club suspended them indefinitely on Monday. "We are very sorry and feel deeply responsible for disappointing everyone who loves volleyball," the Pink Spiders said in a statement. "School violence is something that should never happen, and it cannot be tolerated for any reason." Hours later, the players were banned from the national team for an unspecified period, Yonhap news agency reported. As well as their sporting prowess, the Lees have bolstered their celebrity status by appearing on various television programmes. But the accusations over their past prompted widespread outrage in a country where bullying at school or in the workplace is a serious social problem. South Korea is a regional sporting power and regularly in the top 10 medal table places at the summer and winter Olympics. But in an already intensely competitive society, winning is virtually everything in its sports community -- and physical and verbal abuse are rife. A triathlete took her own life last year after suffering years of abuse from her coach and senior athletes, and a speed skater sued her teammate over a bullying controversy during the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics. |
Harris attracted the most attention locally when he was targeted by a nasty corner of mainstream South Korean media over his part-Japanese background — having been born to a Japanese mother and American naval officer. The furore was of course exacerbated by Trump’s treatment of South Korea. Harris, who tried to make light of the matter at the time, confides that he hadn’t expected to be so personally snared by historic tensions between Japan and South Korea. “Some of the race baiting, I was surprised by that.” |
Over the issue of comfort women, The statue of comfort woman was installed newly recently in Germany based on such a claim. This article writes as follows based on the achievements of other researchers and historical materials in Japan and Korea in those days. Both the Korean and Japanese comfort women are prostitutes of the official recognition, and the Korean comfort women were not abducted by the Japanese military and were not “sex slaves” forced to prostitution. The offer suppliers in Korea were the problem over the comfort women.
The suppliers seduced women by an unjust method and made them comfort women in the process of the recruitment of “Japanese military comfort women”.

The list of dishonorable “World’s Bests” for Korea has a new entry. As of September 2020, Korea’s household debt reached 1.941 quadrillion won ($1.79 quadrillion). The household debt-to-GDP ratio is 101.1 percent. For the first time, the ratio surpassed 100 percent, 16.5 percent up from a year ago. That means a year’s earning of the country cannot pay back the debts our households borrowed. It is an overwhelming number internationally. While there is a small difference in number, IMF research also showed Korea’s household debt-to-GDP ratio rose to 100.6 percent, drastically higher than the world average of 65.3 percent. It is even higher than the 81.2 percent of the United States, a country known for its spending. Korea is ranked in second place among 34 countries after Lebanon (116.4 percent). Considering Lebanon’s unique situation — the Beirut Harbor explosion resulting in a 30-percent decrease in GDP — Korea is practically topping the list. |

In a social media post Friday, her first official apology on the matter, Choo said she is very sorry for causing concern to the people as she is responsible for correctional facilities as justice minister. She has been criticized for her delayed response to the cluster, visiting the prison on Wednesday, more than a month after the first case was reported there. Over 900 people have been infected with COVID-19 at the facility. On Thursday, the justice ministry started to enforce the toughest Level 3 social distancing measures at all prisons nationwide in response to the cluster at the Dongbu Detention Center. Through January 13, inmates are banned from holding meetings, while all manual labor programs and educational training sessions are suspended. Guards will also be prohibited from attending private gatherings to prevent the spread of the virus. |
